This really needs to go in a wiki somewhere. As OSS starts to gain
traction, there /will/ be newcomers who run up against this.

I've got all of this in articles, but a wiki would be better so others can
contribute. I have started a page here:
https://bitbucket.org/ibmi/opensource/wiki/git Any is free to add
content. I will try to add some this week.
