Not sure I would agree with Aaron on the HATS statement.

Tim, it was good of you to challenge me because I provided zero reasoning
with my statement.

I've always considered HATS to be a "stepping stone technology" and not a
destination technology. By "destination technology" I mean the technology
stack used for new apps. I could be wrong, because I haven't used HATS in
a number of years, but is the main purpose of HATS to layer *on top of*
existing green screen?

The reason I mentioned Profound's Genie (stepping stone) is they also have
a graduation path to ProfoundUI (new apps).

Greetings,

When it comes to UI modernization there are many options on the market
place including the IBM HATS product.

Hats is a fine product for doing screen scraping, a good choice for
applications that you don't have the source or are not planning on doing
extended UI updates. HATS is still a fully supported product and
continues
to be updated and enhanced.

Yea, there certainly are other ISV options available that are fantastic.
Each does things a bit differently and leverage a different technology
base.

Jon did a good job covering the ones that I am also aware that have
screen
scraping solutions as well as then the ability to really modernize the
UI
and take it to the next level.
