We were working with customers doing the same thing and we had to provide a
workaround for customers using GETURI and MAILTOOL with TLS because the
system wasn't using the "default" like it should from the system values.

I have developed a web service client written in RPG on Ibm i version 6.1
now running on a few sites. The service must now be able to connect to a
server over TLS 1.1 or/and TLS 1.2. I cannot find any support for that. Is
there a fix that will do it, or will the customer using the WS client have
to upgrade to version 7?
