You may be over thinking this. IF .NET became available in a PASE environment, the work done to accomplish running in PASE should also fix the issue accessing it. What good is running a program if you did not also fix how it gets accessed?

Just out of curiosity, suppose the open source .NET became available in the PASE environment. How would developers be able to leverage that for web and mobile development?

Would .NET programs running in PASE be able to access XMLSERVICE? Is that where Richard's .NET wrappers for XMLSERVICE would be useful?

How would .NET programs running in PASE be accessed by browsers? On Windows, the .NET programs would simply run inside the IIS web server. But I don't see the IIS web server being ported to IBM i. How would Apache or Zend or Node.JS web servers make .NET programs available to browsers and mobile apps?

If we could run open source .NET in PASE, with our .NET programs made available by a web server on the IBM i and able to access XMLSERVICE, then I would have to seriously consider recommending .NET rather than Node.JS to our shop. Of course, this is a big "if."
