Re: Responsive pages

Hardly any of the CSS used in responsive design will be relevant to an html
formatted newsletter. There are so many different clients and if you've
done the research I've done you'll realize that HTML is despised in email
and only adopted because of such huge demand. There is not a consistant
platform and you can forget HTML5 as well as CSS3 in your design. I'm
still seeing users that are getting AOL email (which is a whole different
animal, I didn't hire someone because they used an aol email for an address
and claimed to be a modern developer) and it formats it in text stripping
out my html and really making a god awful looking page. Stick with tables
and the most simple design you can use with email if you want any chance of
it being accepted across the various clients. At least that has been my
experience.

It's probably not applicable to emails, however "HTML newsletter" to me
implies online.

Now if you had said: HTML email newsletter I wouldn't have responded with
Bootstrap :-)

We're using a responsive layout for an HTML newsletter and have two

questions for you HTML gurus.

1) Right now it looks fabulous on phones and tablets. But when viewed

on

a high-res screen like my Mac (for example) it is way too wide unless I
manually reduce the width of the email window. Is there a way to say

that

it should never be allowed to get wider than X?

2) Has anyone come across a two column responsive layout? I can?t find

any good examples of that.
