The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Not sure if the windows team has a particular technology in mind, but doing a File capture web service in .Net is relatively easy.
I'm sure you could do similar in RPG-CGI, PHP or any of the technologies.
What's your team skillset ?

subject: Re: [WEB400] Advice-Webservice with file transfer
I'm focusing on the server portion here.
Big picture:
The end-user will hit a button on the client app which will send in some character data and a stream file. It will come in to my POWER7 and be routed to my RPGLE app. The RPGLE will do its buzzing and whirring, and then it will pass back some character data and a PDF file. This will be returned to the client app, which will format it and display it to the end-user.
