A single HTML document can reference URLs from multiple domains - all which
may contribute some resource to the document. That's fairly common. Image
and script tags may reference different domains. But when it comes to
scripts, browsers have policies which prevent a script from one domain to
post back to a different domain. But even those policies have become more
relaxed.

Many hosting sites also use reverse proxies, where the HTTP proxy may
reroute requests. So the requests appear to be served from an origin, but
the actual content may be coming from somewhere on the other side of the
world.
