Grasshopper has always been FREE and runs with Tomcat and can also create command line apps which you can then wrap CL commands around.

The paid version used to be for Websphere. Not sure if that is still supported. Guessing that it wasn't wildly popular to the Websphere guys :-)

It appears that the "Mainsoft for Java EE (Grasshopper)" product has gone free to develop and deploy which makes it more attractive for IBM I developers - http://dev.mainsoft.com/Default.aspx?tabid=29. I.e. not a sold product anymore.

This usually indicates one of the following:
* They earn more on support.
* It leverages the sales of _another_ Mainsoft product
* It is about to be buried when they can get away with it.

I cannot tell which one based on what I see online.

Anyone who knows?
