Does the IM not work for you? I'm curious as to the benefits of doing it
manually over the IM.

Peter, Jeff gave you the link to the official site which allows you to
download via Installation Manager. I'm still old school and I download
the files directly and set up repositories (I'm writing an article about
that right now, as a matter of fact).

Anyway, go to this link for the non-IM download, which allows either
Dwonload Director (IBM's download applet) or straight HTTP download.

This is actually the link for "previous versions" near the bottom of the
page, but it has an option to download 8.0.1. You'll have to sign in with
your IBM ID.
