Shouldn't it just be:
1. map the server with NFS
2. use the IFS path to the file you need?

Does anyone know if net.data allows use of a file on a remote server in a
%include statement. Can I do something like
%include "
http://www.somesite.com/somefile.html";
I'm pretty sure this is doable in PHP
