I think EGL is a strong concept. My biggest problem
with it is that IBM's fumbled the rollout. There have
been PR gaffes from an RPGers perspective: the
positioning of EGL as an RPG+COBOL replacement,
and the fact that EGL generates COBOL instead of
RPG (even though that's really a red herring). The
EGL CE release wasn't accompanied by some high
profile demos (ala those that launched RoR into the
limelight).
