Thanks for the reply, Walden. With you being an adopter of MS component models on one hand, and a Web application developer on the other, it made me curious where you might come down on this. Create a browser-based UI, or embed an application in Outlook - using it's component model?

I may have gone out on a limb in suggesting that Epicor's transactions may have been based on email, but when you consider the big picture, would you tend to suggest using a browser as the client, or using Outlook as the client for ERP and CRM?

order for an item and then calling back and saying 'oops, sorry, we
don't actually have that in stock'... never had that happen at Amazon
for example. :-) It's simply a question of what your tolerance for
'truth' is.

And you're relying on email for posting transactions. Is that safe?
Personally, I've seen too many cases where email was never delivered.

But I don't think we're talking about SMTP delivery here. We're talking
about using Outlook like a rich-client container and having some sort of
sync process. I would trust that.
