In my experience database connections are heavy weight objects and should be kept to a minimum. I do not know the maximum number of concurrent AS/400 database connections, but it might be an interesting number to work out.From: Thorbjørn Ravn Andersen
Unfortunately this doesn't scale well. You need to be able to serve more users than you have database connections.
I understand that if persistent connections are maintained for each user, that may lead to many database connections, but what resource constraint do you see?
