Definitely not. If you've worked on the platform over the years, you would see the evolution from the System/3x through the AS/400 and on to the i - no Unix at all in the early years. One of the surest arguments for a non-Unix pedigree is the lack of a hierarchical file system - an absolute requirement for Unix - in the original architecture.
