Suddenly there's not that many. Even though they have Windows desktops,Mono is not a drop-in replacement for .NET, and you have the threat of Microsoft using the patent-club.

Maybe so. Just for the record. I don't love Windows either. It's just
currently a necessary evil to run .Net apps :-)
And of course MS Outlook :-)
Once I get a handle on how good MONO is, that may be the platform of
choice for .Net web apps and services. Too soon to tell.
