Net.Data is a dead man walking. It is all but unsupported. The one
developer that does any work on it (Nadir Amra) spends most of his
time in other areas now. I'm begging IBM to formally withdraw support
to give me more ammunition with my bosses in rewriting Net.Data
applications in Java. We stopped doing new Net.Data development last
year.

EGL probably has a better shot at long-term survival if IBM is
successful at getting their Informix customers to move to it from
Informix 4GL.

Agreed. That's why my last sentence was "And that's where the
discussion of Java EE vs.RPG-CGI vs. PHP vs. EGL comes into play." All
of those options are supported by IBM to one degree or another.

I did leave out Net.Data, though. It definitely was a supported option,
and a nice one. Sort of like REXX; a great idea that never got a lot of
attention.

Although I'm pretty sure that Net.Data is "stabilized" if not
"deprecated", isn't it?
