A major help when doing exchange between systems is that you have an
_English_ description of what you have in your hand. I have had the
pleasure of receiving XML documents with tags in Swedish - which is not
too bad for a Dane though - but also with national characters in the
tags, which make it very hard to deal with in code as - which character
set do we save our source code in - and "how do I TYPE this thing?"
It got worse when we had to work on a Finnish system. Joblogs in
Finnish are .. eh.. challenging.
XML is meant for computers and programmers (which implicitly means
working in English), not end-users.
