I haven't figured out how to use Fiddler with Firefox yet, but Internet Explorer sends Headers:

If-Modified-Since: Tue, 11 Mar 2008 23:48:54 GMT

and the HTTP server replies with:

HTTP/1.1 304 Not Modified
Date: Wed, 12 Mar 2008 21:16:29 GMT
Server: Apache
ETag: "3696-675-f68ee580"

But only the headers are sent and received (not cached files).
