Good News Everybody!

A new search engine is coming soon.

As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

...but two to four seconds is not too bad

Don't take this the wrong way... but are you kidding? We're getting
30-50 millisecond response times for ajax transactions and
seriously-sub-second response times for complete page refreshes.

If it meets the business requirements then great, but I'd have users
ready to kill me if we delivered web-apps w/"2-4 second" response times.
What are you doing that requires so long a response? Or are these
response times to the far end of a 28K dialup connection? :)
