My default browser is Firefox, and it must be too long since I've tested my application under Internet Explorer.

I've been using the window.open() method to open a new window minus the browser's default menu, address bar, and toolbars, but with version 7 of I.E. there appears to be some sort of disabled drop down list at the top of the window immediately below the title bar, containing just one entry of the URL referenced in the window.open() method. To me the drop down list just takes up space on the screen and it not helpful to the application in question. See:

I've tried passing various parameters to the window.open() method. Is there any way to get rid of the disabled drop down component?
