I became interested in IPv6 after receiving an invitation to a conference about the end of the IPv4 addresses, which seems closer in SouthAmerica than in the USA, probably because they reserved a lot of addresses.

I was able to start functions of IPv6 in my Linux computer, but not in the i Series at V5.3 I read that the support for IPv6 gets improved a lot in V5.4, and I plan to upgrade soon. In the manuals I didn't find how to configure IPv6, what I read seems to use a windos computer, and not native to the i Series.

It seems a good idea to migrate to IPv6 at leisure, not wait until we have to do it. Aparently there are quite a few adventages in IPv6, besaides of the larger address space.

Does anybody have experience?

The future of the Internet

According to experts, the Internet as we know it will face a serious problem in a few years. Due to its rapid growth and the limitations in its design, there will be a point when no more free addresses are available for connecting to new hosts.
