You can also use XAMPP to learn PHP. It's a LAMP package that comes in
other OS flavors.
(LAMP = Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)

I should also pipe in that there is another pc option to learn PHP.

It supports Windows Vista, Apache 2, MySQL 5.0.37, and PHP 5.2.2.
