Seriously, if the System i5 can offer a programming framework that is
feature rich, easy to use and lead edge wouldn't the fact that it only
ran
on the System i5 be a non-issue?

Hey, I've got no problem being tied to a platform, I use both System i
and Microsoft <G>. My point was, you can't complain about being tied to
a platform and then suggest System i. If true platform indenpendance is
important to you, then java is just about your only choice. Sure, there
are other "web" languages out there (PHP) but I believe java is the only
one that has back-end capabilities.

Now, you can actually run .NET on non-ms platforms either through mono
or through the grasshopper product, but mainstream .net is ms-only.

As for what I quoted above... .net is feature-rich, .net is easy to use
and .net is leading edge, so I guess the fact that it's ms-only is a
"non-issue"? <G>
