Dennis, Thanks for the reply and the links. I will look into them. I am still a bit leery of putting WDSC on my laptop for performance reasons. It really killed my desktop performance and it is actually rare that I bring my laptop to work, but I may just install it for my own learning purposes. I have learned rpg-free to an extent. Program examples and tools I have downloaded use it as well as a very few (<5) programs in the main package we use. The main problem is that I cannot put anything into production with it because our package is mainly supported by an off-site consultant who I think would not stand for it. There are a lot of tutorials to get you started. Here are a couple examples:

And then here is a listing of many other systemI sites

Personally, I would reccommend loading WDSc onto your laptop and start "playing" with it. You also might want to learn RPG-FREE. It's not an OO, (object oriented), language but it has many of the same characteristics and syntax, and it's very easy to learn since it's basically just prettier RPG. As far as I've seen there's no ABC123 way to get started, but just setting up WDSc and learning RSE will keep you quite busy for a while. And once you are well on your way this group will be able to answer any of your questions. =)
