Just an FYI. Microsoft has posted IE7 on their update website and for me it came up as a checked default to install. The masses may start getting IE7 installed soon.
Yeah, I noticed the same thing about 2 weeks ago, Windows Update will by default install it as a "critical update", which I thought was interesting.
I tried running it, and it recommended that every web site I visit be sent to Microsoft, so they could determine whether it's phishing or not, and warn me if it is.
Lovely opportunity for Microsoft to be sent info about every single link anyone follows! Think of all of the market research they can do with this information!
I guess that's the nice thing about having a monopoly on the operating system market -- you can use it to force people to use your latest software, then incorporate spyware into that software, and it's all just fine and dandy because you're Microsoft.
