<<low-cost web editors>> nvu, open source http://www.nvu.com/index.php namo, wysiwyg for 99$ http://www.namo.com/products/webeditor.php ms frontpage if you remove the "extensions" http://www.edirectsoftware.com/product_category.php?catID=58 free or cheap: for me, one of the best: html-kit - very nice for html. viewer included http://www.chami.com/html-kit/ topstyle lite - very very good for css nice for using besides html-kit http://www.bradsoft.com/topstyle/tslite/index.asp general editors: notepad++ - nice (http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm) http://www.wolosoft.com/en/superedi/ http://www.crimsoneditor.com/ If you prefer edit in wysiwyg mode, use Namo or MS-Frontpage, if you prefer more control (as myself) use html-kit AND topstyle lite. html-kit registered version is only 40$, but you can use the free version. In my company some people use Namo, others MS-Frontpage (without extensions), a few Dreamweaver, and other works mixing Namo+htmlkit or Frontpage+htmlkit. of course all the code going to IFS in the System i (520). We'use also an javascript "decent" editor named 1st: http://yaldex.com/JSFactory_Pro.htm Saludos/Regards, Guillermo Andrades CPI Software http://cpiS.es On 10/22/06, Jon Paris <Jon.Paris@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:
Anyone out there using Nvu? If so - have you been able to get it to publish to OS/400? When I try it just says "... unsupported at this time" - it's FTP for goodness sake - how "supported" does it need to be? I'm trying it because my copy of Dreamweaver is so old (V4) that there's too much it can't handle and they want $500 or so for V8 because my license was one of Macromedia's educational licenses which Adobe in their wisdom will not upgrade. If anyone has other suggestions for low-cost web editors with good support I'd be glad to hear about them.
