Mike, I'm not aware of anything in Websphere that enables support for multiple environments (demo, test, production, etc.) within a single instance. What does it mean to support multiple environments within a single instance? To me it would mean that users may select an environment before clicking on a menu item, and that applications running withing that context might access different database libraries, different versions, etc.). It sounds like your vendor doesn't provide support for multiple environments, so the easiest thing for them to suggest is that you deploy their applications across multiple instances of Websphere. You define, setup, and manage the environments by defining multiple instances of Websphere, database connections, etc. Nathan Andelin Mike Wills <koldark@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: My vendor recommends running a seperate webserver and application for our live and test systems. If possible, I would like to at least run only one web server if not one application server as well. Is this possible? Or is it best to run seperate web servers and application servers? -- Mike Wills koldark@xxxxxxxxx http://mikewills.name http://theriverbendpodcast.com "There are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't." -Unknown
