Thanks Bob,

I will bear this in mind - but it looks as if I can get it all configures on my current provider.

Paul,
In the future, use GoDaddy.com they're now the bigger Registrar out there.
I've moved all my old Register.com stuff over to them now and its been cheap
and easy ever since. And you won't need to use ZoneEdit!

OK, I don't see anything on Domain Direct that allows me to specify a CNAME
or A record.

I do have "Advanced Options" that allow me to specify my servers - but I
guess that means that I would need to be running my own DNS.

I am having a look at ZoneEdit (thanks Nathan)

I have a registered domain which I want to forward to an IP address.
It works fine but the resulting URL shows the IP address as opposed
to the domain name. Is there something in the Apache configuration
that I need to change or does the solution lie elsewhere?

Paul:

How are you forwarding the domain? Are you using a URL forwarding
service, or have you setup a CNAME or A entry in the DNS for the domain?

If you're using a url forwarding service, then it's quite possible that
the service will forward to a IP based URL.

What you want to do is setup a A record that points to your IP address, or

CNAME entry that points to another (sub)domain name.
