>I don't even know if they are all refer to the samething.

Um, sort of, depends on how lazy the speaker is. To some degree it's
like saying AS/400 and meaning, AS/400, iSeries and i5. However,
technically speaking:

>Can somebody defining asp, asp.net and .NET for me?

ASP is Active Server Pages. It's a technology that Microsoft used for
many years to build web pages. Think: RPG/400

ASP.NET is the new ASP. It's based on .NET (see below) and is a much
improved version of ASP. Think: RPG/IV

.NET is Microsoft's application execution environment, in _some_ ways
it's Microsoft's Java, but that's not really a fair comparison. Think:
ILE.

So, to recap, ASP is RPG/400, you can still use it, and it works great,
but it's not the latest and greatest, it isn't getting enhanced, and
there are many reasons to switch.

ASP.NET is RPG/IV, it's build on top of .NET (ILE) but it's not
synonymous with .NET (ILE). You need .NET to have ASP.NET, but .NET is
so much more. ASP.NET is the latest and greatest, and is getting
enhanced.

.NET is ILE. It's the basis for ASP.NET, but also for c#, Cobol.NET
(yes, it exists), WinForms, and many other things. It's the overall
architecture that binds the universe together. Hmmmm, .NET is the force!
