Where clause

Hi there I am querying the as400 for data into an asp application i can
return all records but as there are 64,000 of them this is a bit server
hungry. I tried doing a where clause but this didnt seem to work can
anyone give me some tips this is my current query

select * from ctx4nthg ",connDB2
