Mark, The very first line that you need to send back is the content-type header. If you send back anything else first, you'll get a 500 error. The hard coded version worked. The CGI program did not. It was because I was missing 'type="text/Javascript" '. But it still doesn't help. I'm trying to develop an iterface to allow documents to be opened by users that do not have the IFS authority to open the document. I'm trying to use the QSYSETPT API, but it seems that the CGI program doesn't actaully open the document. It' builds it, then, I'm assuming, it hands it off another process. Any suggestions? But, since you're hardcoding the URL, they're both pretty similar in that sense. If the URL can change depending different circumstances, then the 2nd method would be the way to go.
