WAS is certainly complex - although I'm told by non-IBMers that the latest Express wizards make setting it up pretty easy. My biggest problem with WAS is not so much set-up (I can always pay to have that done) but rather working out what the *^%$ is up with it when it falls over. >> The IDE includes a mini-version of the server, so the app dev on the developer PC works out of the box. It is easy. In IBM's defense, this is one thing that WDSC does _really_ well. You can run the JSPs etc. on the PC and still have it communicate with the iSeries to run the RPG code to do the "real work". There's zero set up - it just does it. And it is not a mini-version it is the full server. Jon Paris Partner400 www.Partner400.com
