Apache and .htaccess

Does the .htaccess work with iSeries Apache? I am trying to do a
redirect for all pages from http://mysite.com to https://mysite.com.
This is what I entered in:

# Process Redirects
Redirect 301 / https://lawson.tc.inet/

Does this work? Is there a better approach? This is a portal type site
and I only want SSL communitcations. If anyone requests a non-ssl URL,
I want to redirect to https://
