Joe, as I understand it, a Portlet server is 'Door' to the underlying applications that are defined in the different portlets. am I right? So I thought that one server (plus probably one or 2 mirrors) would 'serve' our applications that reside on all different machines . People tell me now that I have to install a portlet server (preferably the full blown thing, not the express) on all 20 of our iSeries. Is this right ? I can't understand this . luc -----Original Message----- From: web400-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:web400-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Joe Pluta Sent: Tuesday, March 09, 2004 5:47 PM To: 'Web Enabling the AS400 / iSeries' Subject: [WEB400] Portals Portals have been deemed inappropriate for the MIDRANGE-L list, so I'll start the discussion here. I'm not sure how many people here are looking into portals and portlets. Personally, I think they're going to be a very important part of the next generation of web-based UIs, and so I've been doing a lot of preliminary work with them. I've written a couple of articles at MCMagOnline if anyone is interested. http://www.mcpressonline.com/mc?1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@.6ae9a953 http://www.mcpressonline.com/mc?1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@.6ae9400d I'm not sure if they require registration or not.
