Will that work if your notes field can be more than the size of the 
screen?

For instance on a 24x80 screen if you do

heading area

Notes:         [ big box from here   |
               |                     |
               |                     |
               |                     |
               |              to here]

Would there then be some sort of slide on the right?

Actually, doesn't CNTFLD in conjunction with WRDWRAP do something like 
this?
I'm not a big fan of this technique but it seems to be just the ticket.
