Servlet engine shutdown procedure -- WEB400

Is there a "standard" way to have a method invoked when the server is being
shut down?  Is the finalize() method invoked on servlets that have been
invoked?  Or is there a higher level shutdown hook available?  I'm just
wondering if there's a last-chance place to do some cleanup work when a
servlet engine instance is being ended, for example by the Admin Console.
