>>>> I assume that once I figure out templates I'll just replace >>>> everything. I can't think it will be that difficult. more or less correct... On our latest "web facing" project, I created a generic template, then copied it (and tweaked it) for each subsection. While not the "perfect" solution, I only need change a handful of templates to affect change across the entire site (reducing potential for "manual mistakes" :-) ) . We learned to keep as much code in the template (outside editable regions) as possible. Dreamweaver will not update content changes that are in editable regions (even if they weren't changed)... Once I understood this behavior, I found templates a fairly roboust solution for managing content. Keeping it on topic, the 400 has no problem with any of the template tags that DW uses (they're all comments, anyway). I have zero experience with Visual Studio so I can't compare the two products. I have used Front Page and found it *very* limiting. Plus, in the usual Microsoft modus operandi, it will decide it knows what you want better than you do and change (or even add) tags accordingly. DW (UltraDev 4) blows Front Page away. YMMV (the lawyers said I had to write that :-) ) dan
