There is no "magic" in programming.

Which works great if the code is the same on every page.  You want the code
to be different on every page (that is, a different tab is white).  This
means the HTML is different.  Unless your SSI can handle a parameter to
determine which page is selected (and thus include the white tab) then you
have to actually write code.

This is what I was referring to when I said "a little elbow grease".  You
have a choice: same menu on every page (which I despise), hardcoded menu on
each page (I chose this) or a programmatic menu on each page.  You could
achieve the latter with a little JavaScript.  There's no magic for it.
