although the servlet doc gives a similar example, mail.from( "VamaNet" ); seems curious to me. the syntax of command 'MAIL' in the SMTP protocol is MAIL FROM: [a valid address] i'm no java programmer, but the hex value of 'VamaNet' gives something with special chars in ascii that the server could understand as escape chars, is there a risk of 'charater set mismatch' between your code and the servlet ? nicolas ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joel R.
