We use some TCP/IP printers here, and I was able to telnet both to the
standard telnet port 23 (for printer setup) and connect to port 515,
although there wasn't much I could do in 515 since I don't know the 
protocol for printing.

So, if you can do a telnet to the printer port 515 then you should be
able to print to it.  If you can't, then you won't.
