Depending on your setup, you may be able to ping an internet printer, yet still
not be able to print to it.  It all depends on if your configuration is allowing
the printer daemon port though.  Unfortunately, I don't' remember what port 
number
this is, but in services I see printer type info on ports 170, 515 and 704.  I
believe it depends on the printer.
