I could set a sample up that would be no problem, I think there is one kicking around somewhere. We would use DRDA either over IP (although this has issues) or over SNA to make the connection. Performance is good we don't normally get any issues at all, to a remote user they wouldn't know the difference unless the backend is getting hammered. Its not that hard to do you need to create your stored procedure that accesses the backend machine (you can do that in your macro). And then call it through the SQL interface for instance. %FUNCTION(DTW_SQL) setup_mySP() { CREATE PROCEDURE my.spname (INOUT parm1 CHAR(1024)) LANGUAGE RPG EXTERNAL NAME program_library.program_name GENERAL %} %FUNCTION(DTW_SQL) get_mysp (INOUT CHAR(1024) parm1) { CALL my.spname %} Once setup you can then run your Net.Data on the front end under NT (obviously first choice would be the 400), we managed to port a whole application to NT no problems, after writting it all on the 400. Thanks Bleddyn http://www.ignite400.org - your free eBusiness User Group Bleddyn, do you guys have any examples of this at ignite400? Using one 400 as a webserver and keeping data on the production box, this technique might be something we want to look into. +--- +--- | This is the WEB400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to WEB400@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to WEB400-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to WEB400-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
