Hi Jon, Well like everything else, it's a money issue. That and a
persistent idea that IBM i is old and on its way out. It might just be
easier to jump to VS Code.

Why not upgrade to 9.8? At least then if you still have problems you can
get IBM support without aguing about updating.

As to Code for i - yes, the SEP works for it now, as with RDi. That said,
I have only ever used it to debug batch-type functions - not sure how it
works when handling an interactive program. I'm not currently using it
because the latest debug extension requires certificates etc., and I can't
be bothered to set it up right now.

We are still using RDi 9.6. I just got a new Windows 11 laptop, and I'm
having trouble installing RDi 9.6 on it.

- The single user install does nothing unless I install as an admin
user, but that installs into the Admin User's folders.
- The Admin install appears to work, and I can apply the license pack,
but when I try to connect to a host, the dialog appears, but it is
empty.

Is the only option to upgrade to 9.8?

What about VS Code? how does it's debug compare to SEP in RDi. (That was
a
game changer for me)?
