Why not upgrade to 9.8? At least then if you still have problems you can get IBM support without aguing about updating.

As to Code for i - yes, the SEP works for it now, as with RDi. That said, I have only ever used it to debug batch-type functions - not sure how it works when handling an interactive program. I'm not currently using it because the latest debug extension requires certificates etc., and I can't be bothered to set it up right now.
