Hi Daniel,
Oddly I got the first installer from IBM software download site and it appears something was corrupt for the DMG in that installer ZIP file even though it let me open and install from the DMG in the zip file.
I found your article here:
https://qpgmr.de/rdi98-tips-tricks#installation-process
And made my way to the Fix site link you provided
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/fix-list-rational-developer-i
And re-downloaded the DMG installer for 9.8.0 listed here:
http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/swg/quickorder?parent=ibm~Rational&product=ibm/Rational/Rational+Developer+for+i&release=9.8.0.0&platform=Windows&function=fixId&fixids=9.8.0.0-Rational-RDI-EVALUATION-ifix%3A739358467667207680&includeRequisites=1&includeSupersedes=0&downloadMethod=http&source=fc
After that it fired right up.
I applied the license and all is good.
Thanks for the reply and that detailed article you wrote.
Regards,
Richard Schoen

subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] Getting RDI 9.8 to Work with MacOS ??
First - you need to download the DMG file for the Mac. It I assume that you have done that. The ZIP file is only for windows.
Copy the "IBM Rational Developer for i" app to a folder where you have write permission. It should work from the "Programs" folder, but I had some issues with one Mac during an update - so it's safer to create a RDi or IBM folder inside your user profile folder and copy it there.
Don't copy it to you Documents oder Desktop folder - as those are often synced to iCloud and the massive RDi app will block a lot of space there.
Now you have to allow Apps not only from the App Store but also from "verified developers" in Privacy & Security.
If double-clicking the app doesn't work - do a right-click and select to run it - you will get the choice to allow that specific app to run - next time, it will run without that. But generally double-clicking should open a small window with a warning, that the app is "from the Internet".
The next step should be the Workspace selection window.
If you have any other issues - feel free to send me a PM with a screenshot - maybe I can help.
HTH and kind regards,
Daniel

?Hi All,
Just tried installing RDI 9.8 on MacOS 15.
When I go to launch it I get this error:
The Application "IBM Rational Developer for i.app" can't be opened.
This is a Macbook M1 with MacOS 15.1. Rosetta is also installed.
And nothing shows up in Privacy & Security as being at issues.
Thoughts appreciated.

Richard Schoen
