Hi Mike
Thanks, it did work this time for me - I might have had a PEBCAC moment.
Now I'll give this to my colleague - not the PEBCAC, I hope!
And thanks to Justin, as well!
Cheers

Odd, I am not sure why it would not work, I would guess that a space may be needed before or after or some such. What I would generally suggest is to open a Command Prompt window, change (cd) to the RDI 9.8 install directory and run rdi.exe -clean

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Re: [WDSCI-L] Clean option in 9.8 version of RDi?
Hi Justin
At 9.8, I don't think that works - the shortcut I use on my task bar calls RDi.exe - and when I put the -clean on that, it said it is not a valid option.
So in the P2 9.8 version, is there a different way to call it?
Cheers

I always just copy my existing shortcut, right-click=>Properties, and add
-clean after the existing Target (with a space before -clean).

subject: [WDSCI-L] Clean option in 9.8 version of RDi?
We have a developer whom I helped to remove a plugin from RDi - the
Turnover Lifecycle Management plugin. We used the option to uninstall when
looking at Help/About IBM Rational Developer for i/Installation Details.
That seemed to work, the perspectives, etc., all seemed to have gone
However, there was an RDi error tab that listed a large number of Turnover
artifacts that RDi could not find.
I believe I read that with Eclipse there is a -clean option - I tried that
on rdi.exe and got an error saying that option was not valid.
I'm not aware of an option to start the P2 version of Eclipse now used for
RDi 9.8 - we want to clean up any leftovers from the uninstalled plugins.
If there is something in the Help, let me know. A fairly quick search gave
me nothing obvious.
Regards
Vern
