I don't know about installing as administrator - on my own laptop, I suppose I am the administrator, but on my work laptop, I'm definitely not an admin, same for all of us developers at work.

Our organizations (yours and mine and everyone else') can have "interesting" rules. If you are able to unzip a ZIP file under your non-admin user, I strongly recommend that - use Buck's suggestion to save your setup.

So, I still do have exactly as described.

* My base RDi folder is "C:\IBM_RDi98\IBM Rational Developer for i"
*
Inside that folder I have RDi.exe and RDi.ini which has:
-vm
jdk-11.0.22+7/bin/javaw
*
javaw.exe does exist in that path "C:\IBM_RDi98\IBM Rational Developer for i\jdk-11.0.22+7\bin"

Seems like it checks out, but alas the error tells me its not there. Something is broken with my install.

I can see this path in c:\rdi9800\rdi.ini

jdk-11.0.20.1+1/bin/javaw
