Finally RDI 9.8 installed and with a permanent license

What I did was the following:



A folder on the PC with a really short path name should be setup. I
created C:/RDI9.8

The product zip file should be extracted right under this folder creating
the product folder "IBM Rational Developer for I". If not many paths for
objects would be too long and objects dropped.

The activation zip file should also be extracted right under this folder
creating the folder "RDI_Act_Kit_9.8_ML" this is where the zip file
"RDi_9.8_RPGCOBOLTools_AU_Lic_Act_Kit_P2.zip" which is used for activation
of license lives

When launching RDI to activate the license I chose "Run as administrator"
just in case something made it a good idea to do so.

I then followed the instructions in the video

And finally after all this time I have a permanent license



But why on earth does it have to be so complex???
