Well the latest version hasn't been out for two years Art - so are you
really using the latest version i.e. 9.8?
I am not on an M1 system, but after RDi 9.8. had been running for a bit, I
started to see the error you described. After many abortive attempts at
fixing it I had to reinstall 9.8 and (fingers crossed) it has been fine
since.
