Hi Patrick,

I did make a deliberate error "If x = ;" and the editor marked it with
"RNF0637 (30)An operand was expected but was not found; specification is
ignored."

Also, I think you're referring to "Verify" which is in the menu under
"source". This does return any errors I make.

I'm talking about the "validate" option in the right-click menu.

But meanwhile Steve offered an explanation so my point is kind of moot now
;-)

Thanks,

Peter

Peter,
Is it possible you don't have any errors in your code?
In the error list view click the three dots and then mouse over "Show
Severity". You'll see the error categories: Information, Warning, Error,
Severe, Terminating. Click on any category to toggle the view of those
messages.
Mike Hockings,
I've noticed that there is no visual cue in 9.8 that a category is blocked
from viewing or not. You just have to toggle the category to see if any
messages show.

Hi all,

I'm evaluating RDi 9.8 and so far it looks very good, although we still
need to install some PTF's before I can use SEP's.

One thing that puzzles me is the "Validate" option (with a checkbox) I
see
whenever I right-click in a source.

If I select it, I immediately get a pop-up saying there were no errors or
warnings.

What does it validate? I tried it with and without selecting parts of my
source code but the result is the same. Even if I deliberately make a
syntax error.

Thanks.
